STUDENTS' ACTIVITY COUNCIL (S.A.C.)

The S.A.C. is an extremely active student group at Alexander Mackenzie High School.  The S.A.C. organizes a variety of events during the school year for students to become involved in school life including charity drives, dances, Spirit Week, formal events, and much more.  The Council, which is elected by the student body in May, consists of active, enthusiastic leaders from the school.  Consider becoming a part of it by running for Grade Representatives in September or by joining the Special Events Committee.

Arts and Culture Council
The Arts and Culture Council aims to promote the dramatic and visual arts throughout the school. In doing so, the Council intends to develop an appreciation of the arts within the school community. The Council runs events such as the Java Nights, Talent Show and Culture Fair. Applications for the Council will be available in early September and everyone is welcome to apply.

Athletic Council
The Athletic Council at Alexander Mackenzie High School is a group of student leaders that is involved in a wide range of activities. The Council organizes pep rallies, sport-a-thons, the athletic banquet, and supports our amazing athletes. The Council runs its own store, “The Locker Room”, where snacks, uniforms, and school clothes are on sale.

Make your high school experience great: join the Athletic Council. Applications will be available in mid-September. Everyone is welcome, from non-athletes to all-stars.

Character Council
The Student Character Council works with S.A.C to promote the 10 character attributes that the board has identified.

Music Council
The Music Council is actively involved in the running of the Music Department and was created to address any and all issues or ideas that concern music students. It advises the music staff on concerts and purchases, and plans fundraising and social events, including our annual extended field trip. Members also join with other councils to help organize large school activities. Any student enrolled in a music course is eligible to be interviewed for membership on the Music Council.

Technical Council
The Technical Council is a very active council aimed at representing and improving the Technology Department. The council has run many successful events such as the gameroom, candy raffles and much more. Everyone is welcome. Join up with the Tekkies!
